*Gemba (現場) is the Japanese term for “actual place,” often used for the shop floor or any place where value-creating work actually occurs.

The opening phase of the #MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) program (EABM) has gracefully begun, marked by the arrival and integration of our first batch of international master candidates. Today, these early arrivals convened at the Orientation Day, hosted at the University of Zurich's main campus.

We were delighted to receive a delegation led by Raphael Zumsteg-Yuan from the SinoSwiss Technopark (SSTP) in Chongqing China who visited our esteemed team, including Prof. Wittmann Xinhua and Ewald Beivi 贝维德 エワルド at the University of Zurich's main campus.
Last Friday, December 18, the traditional ECBM Christmas Dinner took place virtually via Zoom. The highlight of the dinner was the Food Contest - our students baked and cooked a Christmas dish and sent photos of their edible works of art.
On the 29th of October, we had the pleasure to organize the second, this time entirely online, Evening Seminar with the representatives of Dectris.
On the 5th of October 2020, our students attended the very first Evening Seminar of this academic year. This is just the beginning of a series of Evening Seminars of which each has a different topic and guest speaker.
On the 21st September 2020, our students had a chance to get to know all of our ECBM Mentors and choose one of them who is going lead them for the coming months.

On December 5th 2019 the class of European and Chinese Business Management had a pleasure to visit the Swarovski Headquarters in Männedorf, Switzerland. The unique chance of learning about the “Strategic Branding and Retailing” from Mr. Robert Buchbauer, was the highlight of the day.

The Master Messe is always a good place to talk to students about their career plans. We had many exciting discussions with students who were thinking about their next steps in their education. Some were looking for business knowledge to complement their specialized studies, others were there to find a way to enter the business world.
We believe intercultural competence is a skill which cannot be learned solely from books – it must be experienced.
True to this motto the students of the MAS European and Chinese Business Management and CAS Chinese Business Management during the company visit to Scintilla AG were able to get practical insights into the company wholly owned by Bosch.

On Nov 5 the ECBM students had the unique chance to get an insight into one of Switzerland's most famous industries - we visited the Swiss luxury watch company Maurice LaCroix in Saignelégier and got an amazing insight into this vibrant and innovative company.

We are very proud to have so many amazing Coaches on board who are willing to support students with their experience in their different fields and industries. At this MAS Coaches Meet & Greet the students met the coaches for the first time.
Swissinfo published a short video which features two of our students talking about their experiences in Switzerland and their tips for you to make your stay in Switzerland the amazing experience you plan it to be.
We were very happy to welcome Illari Dammert, Head of Avalanche Safety at Mammut Sports Group, to talk about his experiences working with Chinese partners.
He talked about communication challenges that arise when you develop and produce with decentralized teams.
