India Day 2025 – The 5th Edition of the EABM Asian Day Series at the University of Zurich
This week we had the pleasure of hosting India Day, part of the EABM Asian Day Series at the University of Zurich. This year’s edition carried special significance as we celebrated an important milestone: the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Switzerland and India on 1 October 2025 🇨🇭🤝 🇮🇳.
🎓More than 100 participants joined us in the historic Aula of the University of Zurich. The event, co-hosted with the Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce (SICC), provided firsthand insights from industry leaders on the opportunities and implementation of the new FTA.
We were honored to welcome H.E. Mridul Kumar, 🇮🇳 Ambassador of India to Switzerland, and Prof. Dr. Harald Gall, Dean of the Faculty, who opened the event with their keynote remarks. The program was professionally moderated by Estrella Wang Tang, Director of the European and Asian Business Management (EABM) Program.
💡Key perspectives on the strategic importance of the FTA were shared by René Mulder, Executive Board Member / Vice President of SICC, followed by a pre-recorded contribution from Mr. Nik (Niklaus Samuel) Gugger, Member of the Swiss National Council.

Their contributions were followed by an engaging panel discussion masterfully moderated by Dr. Dr. Ratnesh Thapliyal, Founding Partner, JRR Group Holding AG. A short musical interlude by our EABM master’s candidate Renquan Ruan PHD. added a special touch to the program.
💫After the Q&A session, participants continued conversations during an apéro in the Lichthof, where our MAS EABM candidates actively engaged with senior leaders from industry and politics to expand their networks.
